Class Descriptions
Classical Ballet (Levels III-V)
Ballet repertoire with barre and center exercises appropriate for the level and age. Proper placement, technique and movement quality are stressed.
Contemporary Ballet (Lihue)
Classical ballet barre followed by contemporary dance center work. (4 class sessions offered periodically - $60 or $16/class.)
Contemporary Styles
Various dance styles (Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, etc.) influenced by currently popular music and movement trends. (Aug. 25-Sept.15 is Modern with Jeianna.)
Creative Movement (age 4-6)
Utilizes "preballet" exercises, musical rhythms, and props for movement exploration.
Dance Basics (age 6-8)
Divided time between elementary ballet exercises and basic tap steps/rhythms.
FitDance Fusion (age 11-adult)
20 min. each of standing stretches, simple aerobic dance movement, and floor toning exercises. Bring a mat, towel and supportive athletic shoes.
Jazz/Hip Hop for Kidz
A fun class of "kid appropriate" movements, combinations and music.
Pointe
Optional extension of ballet study by invitation. Twice weekly ballet study required by ages 11-18.
Stretch and Tone (age 11-adult)
A class designed to stretch, strengthen, and tone muscles in an easy-to-follow format of Pilates-influenced standing and floor work. Bring a mat & towel.
Tap
Basic tap rhythms, steps, and combinations stressing sound and movement quality.
Note: When ages are indicated, they are guidelines only; placement is based upon the best class choice(s) for the individual student.
