Kauai Dance Theatre

Class Descriptions

Ballet I (age 6-9) and Ballet II (age 7-10)
Ballet barre & center exercises appropriate for the age and ability of the students 

Ballet Levels III-V (age 9 up)
Classical barre and center exercises appropriate for students' age, ability and previous training

Contemporary Dance (suggested for ages 10 and older)

Center warm-up, technique work, across-the-floor movements -

Various styles - lyrical, theater dance, jazz may be studied.

Pointe (ages 11 & older)
optional extension of ballet study for serious students; by invitation

Preballet (ages 3-5)
Focus is on floor stretches, elementary ballet exercises, and group  movement combinations appropriate for young, energetic dancers using props and fun music

Tap Dance
Progressive tap rhythms, steps, and combinations stressing sound and movement quality.  Different styles may be explored.

Note: When ages are indicated, they are guidelines only; placement  is based upon the best class choice(s) for the individual student.

3:00-3:40 PM Preballet

3:45-4:45 PM Ballet I/II

4:45-6:15 PM Ballet IV/V (includes Pointework for students studying it)

Wednesdays  (no class on Halloween)

9:00-10:15 AM Private ballet lesson

4:15-5:30 PM Ballet III

9:00-10:00 AM Adult Beg. Tap

Current session dates Sept. 21 - Nov. 9 (no class on 10/12 or 10/19)

 $75/6 classes, $18/single class 

Private lessons in all dance styles are available; fee is based on $50 for a one hour session.

Tuition: per 6 class session

40 minute class - $60

One hour class - $75

one hour 15 minute class - $90

one hour 30 minute class - $105

​Each class must meet a minimum enrollment to be held.
